A life you will remember

From the lyrics of The Nights, a song by Swedish DJ and music producer Avicii (Tim Bergling):

One day my father—he told me,
“Son, don’t let it slip away.”
He took me in his arms, I heard him say
“When you get older
Your wild heart will live for younger days
Think of me if ever you’re afraid.”

He said, “One day you’ll leave this world behind
So live a life you will remember.”

The things that you talk about are what you have experienced. And you only remember those that stand out from the “crowd”.

When I look back in time I see things that I have done that I would not do today. When you are younger you are more inclined to take risks. And when I say risks I am not talking only about the financial ones.

As an entrepreneur if you just want to sail the known and safe waters, chances are that you would not have much to tell. You will just experience what others did, including your competitors.

Success -however you may define it- most of the time needs “a life to be remembered”… by you.
